Sponsored by Boy Scout Units 448, Inc., the 28th annual South Yadkin River Canoe and Kayak Race will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014. The six-mile race begins at the US Hwy. 601 bridge and access area, west of Salisbury, and concludes at the access area located at the confluence of the South Fork and main channel of the Yadkin. Course conditions consist of flat water with some current, depending on rainfall. Entry fee for the race is $20. Entries postmarked prior to May 1 are entitled to a free t-shirt. Otherwise, t-shirts, in limited quantities, will be available for $10 on race day.
